How Did You Two Originally Meet?
On move in day at BSU, my roommate and I met a boy 3 doors down, Hunter Robertson. That night at Karaoke, two boys came out and sang Man I Feel Like a Women... identical twins (Hunter and Duncan!). Over the next few months, I kept running into Duncan outside our dorm as I came back from practice and he left for class. We always smiled and waved, but in all honesty I didn’t know 100% if it was Hunter or Duncan! Over the next couple of months, I tried really hard to tell the identical twins apart. I had begun talking to Duncan on social media slowly and figured I needed to be able to tell them apart. Eventually I sat them down together and didn’t let them leave until I could! One day, the boys said we could go get treats in their room. Of course I went over! They were out, so their suitemate let me in. Well... as I’m chowing down butter cake, the boys walk into their room. Oops! Shortly after that, Duncan and I began spending a lot of time together, and we eventually went on our first date, and he asked me to be his girl friend a month after that!
Describe Your First Date and/or First Memories Together.
My first favorite memory would of course be the butter cake incident. We hung out “alone” for the first time at the BSU tree lighting, and have gone every year since! (6 years now!) Our first date was done in classic dorm room-freshman year fashion. Duncan, 3 doors down, picked me up at my room. We hoped in an Uber and headed downtown to PF Chang’s. After that, we went to the Christmas tree lighting at the Capitol. As we chatted, he told me all about his family, life, and more. Hilariously now, I was so infatuated with him that I don’t remember anything he told me... I was just staring into his eyes! He asked me out using his favorite bible verse a month after our first date, proverbs 16:3!
Why do you love living in Boise? Describe some of your favorite things to do in Boise and/or Idaho together.
We love snowboarding, going camping, playing with our puppy Smokey, and enjoying our friends we’ve made over the years. We love to cheer on the Broncos all year long. We have never repeated a dinner date location in Boise! Our favorite thing to do is try new dinner places in the treasure valley!
What advice do you have for those searching for love?
Be yourself! Be real, be open, and be a listener!
