One worked for United Airlines. The other worked for Alaska.
One caught the other doing donuts at the airport pushback at an abandoned gate.
Airport connect led to a road trip & ultimately #LoveiInTheBOI. Here is LInda & Drake’s story.
How did you two meet?
At the BOI ramp. I worked for United and he works for Alaska, so our gates were right by each other. I remember one night working late and taking a shortcut through Alaska’s ramp (since no one was there) to drop off baggage at the carousels. As I whizzed by, I noticed a guy doing donuts in a pushback at an abandoned gate. He came to a stop, caught me watching him, and waved. I later found out that was Drake, and my initial impression of him was very accurate - a goofy, fun guy for sure!
Describe Your First Date
Since we were both airport employees, our first date was an attempt to fly to SEA for a day 😂 However the flights filled up, and we never made it. We ended up going on a roadtrip to Stanley for our first date, stopping at the hot springs along the way, taking photos, and really getting to know each other.
What are you favorite local things to do & places to go?
More often than not you’ll find us at the fancy Albertsons Marketplace doing grocery shopping for an elaborate dinner. Staying in and cooking a fancy meal is our new favorite thing to do! $5 Tuesdays paired with a visit to Bodovinos is always a good date as well. Then if we’re feeling up to it, going on spontaneous trips (whether they’re flights or road trips) is also a favorite activity of ours!
What is one word of advice you have to those who are still in search of love?
Build a healthy relationship with yourself first before you expect to find that with someone else.
